Specific Learning Objectives & Stages:

1. Develop university-level research and composition skills through a process approach to writing

i. Distinguish between primary and secondary sources

ii. Evaluate sources and incorporate and synthesize a variety of research materials; both print and non-print research sources

iii. Using the writing process, craft a documented essay/research paper that analyzes or documents a topic and is appropriate to audience and purpose

iv. Develop and apply critical thought and creative inquiry throughout the processes of brainstorming, research, and writing

v. Incorporate instructor feedback in drafting, revision, and editing to continually improve quality and effectiveness of writing

vi. Develop an awareness of research methods in order to design and prepare a research plan

vii. Use appropriate and consistent methods of citation and documentation of source material (introduce and raise awareness of APA, MLA, Chicago etc.)

2. Develop skills in presenting and discussing academic research and writing through workshops and presentations

i. Speak about academic research in an engaging and eloquent manner

ii. Use visual aids to enhance the quality and clarity of presentations

This course has been created by the teacher. In this course, we will cover all topics related to Business English. This will include writing emails, conducting meetings, giving presentations, and engaging in casual conversation with your colleagues.
