Why do I need pronunciation lessons?

There are sequenced sounds in Spanish that flow in different way from other languages, this might cause problems when listening to native speakers. Also, it's common as a no native speaker to separate words and sounds, making harder the fluency in conversation.

Do I need a level for this course?

Everybody is welcome! If you have a basic level, this is the best chance to start learning Spanish and to get familiar with the sounds of this language. Higher levels get more fluency and confidence to speak.

What can I expect in the lessons?

• Shadowing practice.

• Articulatory phonetics exercises.

• Tongue twisters.

• Word linking.

• Dictation of words and short phrases.

• Reading short texts aloud.

Since this is a pronunciation course, it's completly focused on sounds production and listening. You will learn few vocabulary used in the texts. Grammar is excluded.

Is there a program to follow?

These are some of the items you can expect in the course:

• The alphabet.

• Vowel linking (diphthongs and hiatus).

• Voiceless and voiced consonants (for Asian students).

• Syllabic division.

• Distinguish between "L" and "R" sounds (for Asian students).

• Words stressed on the last, the penultimate and the antepenultimate syllable.

• Entonation rules.

• Accent mark rules and its exceptions.
