Denise Hoyle

I grew up in Boston,MA and I’ve lived overseas for the past 25 years. I recently moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. I've worked with a variety of people from many different countries who need to improve their written and spoken English. I help students to make themselves better understood when giving presentations, negotiating and socializing in English.

I customize my lessons to meet each student's needs. I use workbooks, internet links, and authentic materials from the student's workplace. For example, with students who worked in the hotel industry, we used hotel brochures, maps, menus, etc. for role play. With my students who worked in finance, we worked with budget reports and presentations.

I primarily work with adults who need to refine their English. I work with business people, diplomats and educators. I also worked as a volunteer with children at the international schools in Japan, France and Norway and I also currently tutor ELL children in a local elementary school.

I produced educational videos for the medical community in Boston and Houston before being transferred overseas because of my husband's job in the oil industry. After moving abroad, I volunteered at my sons' schools and for various international organizations. I eventually became an ESL instructor.
