Archana S Vajjhala
Bio:
I believe that everyone learns differently, and hence all lessons should be tailored to the learner. I obtained my CELTA in 2015, and have been tutoring ever since. While my focus areas are Business English (navigating workplace scenarios in English), Test Prep (aimed at clearing English Level tests such as IELTS and TOEFL), and Grammar, I also have experience leading conversational English classes. I have also recently obtained a certificate in Teaching Academic English.
My teaching methodology:
My teaching background:
As a former language and corporate communications trainer in the IT enables services industry, I have taught Basic and Advanced Business English courses to numerous batches of Customer Service agents. I have also taught Test Prep classes (IELTS and TOEFL) to several learners aspiring either to emigrate, or to study abroad. Other courses that I have handled include Concepts of English Grammar, and Conversational English, based on demand. I teach mostly adults, but my learners sometimes also include college/university level students.
My background outside of teaching:
I have an MBA in HR. I started my career as an HR Business Partner, from which I moved into the more specialised role of Learning Partner. I have experience in running Training Needs Analyses, in order to create the exact training content that learners need. This is a skill that I use to this day, when I design my lessons, and that helps me cater to the exact requirements of the learners. I obtained my CELTA in 2015, and have been a Language tutor, both corporate and academic, ever since. I also speak fluent Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and French, which have often helped me find a bridge language when the complete immersion learning method hits roadblocks. I have recently obtained my DALF C1 certificate in French.
