Hello! My name is Mhairi and I am a native English speaker from the United Kingdom. I love studying languages and I studied Spanish and Chinese at university for 4 years. I like to help other people find their passion for languages and help them discover different cultures and traditions. I have discovered that learning a new language creates so many exciting opportunities and I would love for my students to experience this.

My lessons are mainly conversation-based, with a strong focus on helping you speak naturally and confidently. I enjoy getting to know my students and adapting each class to their individual goals and interests. We can talk about topics such as: Daily life Hobbies and interests Food and culture Work and school Travel and current events Alongside conversation, we will also work on pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and cultural understanding, depending on your needs. I use a variety of fun and interactive materials, including: Videos Music and songs News articles Photos YouTube content

I started teaching English when I was 18 years old and working as an Au Pair in Spain. From there, my passion for teaching began and I have continued to give English lessons to all kinds of students ranging from children to adults. I have taught English to people from many different countries including India, Spain & Peru. My English classes are mostly conversation-based and I love to have interesting conversations and learn about my students. Topics can include: hobbies, food, workplace, school, daily life etc. I also like to adjust my classes to cater to what my students need in order to improve their English. We will also touch on some grammar, pronunciation and culture depending on each student's needs.

I’m originally from Falmouth, a small coastal town in the UK, where I grew up by the ocean 🌊. I started learning Spanish at 12 years old and quickly fell in love with languages. My students often describe me as calm, patient, and encouraging, and I bring that same energy into my classes. I’m also very organised and take time to prepare lessons tailored to each student. Outside of teaching, I love being outdoors—especially surfing, hiking, and running. I’m an avid reader and enjoy challenging myself by reading books in other languages, particularly Spanish. Aside from teaching, I enjoy being outside especially surfing, hiking, and running. I am an avid reader and you will often find me reading a book in the sun! I also like to challenge myself and read books in different languages such as Spanish.
