Hello, I'm Andrew, a language teacher from New Zealand. I focus on giving you confidence to use English professionally and personally. I use my experience in business and IT to teach industry-specific vocabulary and skills. If you're a beginner, intermediate or advanced learner, I can help you achieve your language goals. My teaching methodology:
- To speak more confidently - I focus on real conversations that you will have (one-to-one meetings, group meetings or phone conversations). We will cover topics that you will likely talk about in the future.
- To add more vocabulary - We'll look at real news articles and focus on vocabulary that's new and how you can use it.
- To understand what people say - Watch videos of interviews or conversations about a theme to understand see how people interact with each other.
- To improve pronunciation - Depending on your first language, we'll work on exercises so that you can speak more clearly and you feel more confident that people understand you.
My teaching background:
I have over 3 years of experience teaching students online and in-person. I enjoy teaching adults, especially those who are I.T. professionals. I like to focus on practical applications that student's can take from the class and use immediately.
My background outside of teaching:
Previously, I worked in I.T. and research roles in New Zealand. My expertise is related to data and mapping. Most of my experience is in data analysis and I.T. roles. I worked in a university research center and a government agency.
